Project Management Institute
Carla Messikomer is Manager, Academic Resources at the Project Management Institute. The PMI Sponsored Research Program, the Biennial Research and Education Conference, and the Research Open Working Sessions fall under her area of programming. She is currently leading the effort to have project management recognized as a special interest group at the Academy of Management, is developing respondent pools for use by PM researchers, and is exploring ways in which academics and executives can effectively partner in the research enterprise. Prior to joining PMI, she was the director of a non-profit research and education center focused on social issues in health care, gerontology, mergers in health care organizations, and organizational ethics, and was formerly on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania. Within project management, her interests center on change management, the front end stage of launching research projects, conflict management and ethics, leadership and governance.
