Marie-Louise Barry obtained her B-Eng in 1990 from the University of Stellenbosch, her M-Eng (project management) cum laude in 2003 from the University of Pretoria and her PhD in Project Management from the University of Pretoria in 2011. She has over 18 years of experience in project management in the Defence environment. She is currently employed as a Principle researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa where her responsibility is to set up at training centre for female Saudi scientists. She has mentored numerous students in their mini-dissertations for Masters degrees in Project Management, Engineering Management and Technology Management and currently has 15 students. Her research interests include: project selection; human resource and communications management in projects, organising for projects (project maturity, project offices etc), project risk management, project success. She is a PMP and a senior member of the IEEE.
