Standards and Research

Harvey Maylor / Carla Messikomer / Peter W. G. Morris / Miles Shepherd

Historically the link between project management standards and research has not been very strong. Because project management research has been increasing in quantity, quality and scope in recent year, there are more research results available that might inform standards. Furthermore, research could be initiated to support development and validation of standards. The professional associations that develop and publish standards are aware of the current lack of connection between research and standards and many researchers would be willing to contribute to a stronger link between the two. The panel brings together people that have contributed in different ways to building a link between research and standards. The discussion promises to be well-informed and lively.
